Would a ct scan miss a brain tumor?

Postby santos » Thu Sep 15, 2011 4:47 pm

would a ct scan without contrast miss something like a brain tumor? should i have another one? and if youre wondering, my symptoms are teeth clenching when i move my head, headaches, concentration difficulties and sleep problems. however, wen i did my scan, the only symptom i had was concnetration difficulties. the rest started appearing later so should i get another scan? would a normal ct without contrast miss a brain tumor?

The only way a tumor could not be seen is if it was too small in which case it would not bother you either.

The person interpreting the ct scan results could easily miss a tumor. I always suggest getting a second opinion because you should never put all your trust (and life) into one persons hands.
