Here's the data from http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/all_page.adp?item_id=9346
"During 1996- 2004 relative SURVIVAL rates OVERALL were:
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL): 66 % - - 91% for children < 5
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML): 21% - - 55% for children <15
Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML): 47% overall survival
At the present time there are approximately 231,461 people living with leukemia in the United States."
ALL and CML are very different diseases with completely different treatment regimens. Children with ALL do very well these days. There are prognostic factors - such as age - which affect the outcomes for both diseases.
