Why Do Most People Who Aren't Sexually Active Start Birth Control?

Postby Mylo » Tue Mar 14, 2017 12:56 am

There are many benefits to hormonal birth control. It can:

-regulate, lighten, and shorten your period

-clear skin

-reduce cramps and other symptoms associated with menstruation

-reduce your risk of cervical cancer

-it is the best/only treatment for PCOS, endometriosis, and a few other nasty reproductive illnesses

Aside from which, it protects you from pregnancy -even if you're not sexually active, there's always a chance you will decide to have sex spur-of-the-moment (and it can take up to 3 months for hormonal birth control to become fully effective), not to mention the horrible but undeniable fact that there is always a risk of rape -and no matter what conservative weirdos like to say, people can and do become pregnant from rape.

A PAP scan has nothing to do with start control. You have a PAP scan to see if you have cancer or precancerous cells which can be watched or treated. The PAP experiment is interested by a swablike thing and is not gropeing. If you are this uncomfortable about having an exam to protect your wellbeing, i ponder what in the world you consider having intercourse will likely be like. Also, you aren't naked and which you can have a lady in the room should you wouldn't have a woman health care professional. These exams are part of being a lady if you are fortunate ample to live in a society the place there is modern day hospital treatment. I hopr you get previous these fears.

Most people who are not sexually active do not start using any kind of birth control, as they are not at risk of pregnancy. There is no need.

I take it you are referring to hormonal birth control such a the contraceptive pill? Some girls go on the pill to control their periods, if they have particularly heavy bleeds or bad cramps etc. But if you are not having any problems like this then I would not recommend going on the pill unless you are sexually active, because it messes with your natural hormones. Also, it's a big hassle!
