Why Do I Hurt So Much More During Menstruation When I Bleed Less?

Postby Chiumbo » Sun Sep 17, 2017 4:56 am

It is very rare that I have pain when I am on my period. Well, I used to a lot, but in the last couple of years, I don't remember hurting bad at all.

It seems like, in the past, and right now, whenever I bleed less, I have severe cramps from my lower abdomen to mid-thigh and all around my back. Midol helps a little, but it still hurts like crazy. If I'm like... don't know how else to say this... pouring blood, I don't hurt one bit. It sucks for it to be heavy, but I'd rather not hurt like this.

I've also had a couple of ruptured ovarian cysts (first one at 16). Also have a family history of woman problems-- my sister had cervical cancer and my mother had ovarian cancer.

Well the cancers aren't genetic so that's good news.

It sounds to me (and I'm not a doctor) like endometriosis (bleeding into your abdomen) because you get more pain when you see less blood.
