What is the survival for Stage 3 Lung Cancer if the whole lung has been removed?

My husband is 53 years old and had his right lung removed four weeks ago. The tumor was around 70% size of the lung. Only after the surgery did we find out that it was stage 3. What does that mean for him.

If it was just in that lung and did not metastasize somewhere else, then he should be alright. It means the cancer was all removed. That's a good thing. I am a cancer survivor, not lung but I have no metastasis anywhere. The remaining lung will compensate for the one removed. I pray he does well. God bless both of you.
