What does lymphoma look like?

Postby alfonse » Mon Aug 15, 2011 2:57 am

Hello, I was curious as to what lymphomas look like, meaning how do they normally present themselves, such as how big are they (Grape/peanut/golfball/etc)

Also, where on the neck do they most often occur?

thanks!

enlarged lymph nodes in lymphoma come in all shapes and sizes really. there's not a specific shape or size or location that is characteristic of lymphoma. you have millions of lymph nodes all over your body and in lymphoma any of them can become enlarged. classically they are noted in the neck, only because they are the most easily visible in that location without scans or other tests.

its difficult to catch lymphoma in the early stages as it has very few symptoms initially. the classic symptoms of lymphoma are enlarged lymph nodes, night sweats, fevers, recurrent infections, itchy skin, weight loss, fatigue and occasionally abdominal pain
