What Are Chances Of Ovarian Cancer?

Postby Morfran » Sat Feb 11, 2017 10:40 am

So I got a CT scan a week ago and they found a 4.8cm (about 2 inches) cyst on my left ovary. I have been having nausea, vomiting, lower back pain, a slight fever (99.9-100f), kind of heavy and slightly irregular periods and some dizziness. Not much pain on the ovary though, just some "pressure" occasionally. I actually have more pain on the right side. And there was a bought of constipation (gross sorry!) I just wanted to know the odds if anyone knows of this becoming or is ovarian cancer. I'm only 19 years old and healthy other than this. I have had cysts before but my doctor was never concerned and now I'm being sent to the gynecologist. Thanks!!

A cyst on the ovary is VERY common. Almost every woman have it. A cyst is NOT the same as a tumor. A tumor is sick cells, while a cyst is just a kind of fluid-filled blister. It´s not dangerous while its not to big, but if you have problems due it, as you really seem to have, you can surgically remove it. Again, this is NOT, and can NOT become cancer :) Hope it helps. Don´t worry.
