My niece has stage 4 Melanoma..
Her doctor at University Hospital has basically given up on her.
As far as we know it is not in her organs.
Does anyone know of a clinical trial with any success?

Well . .usually clinical trials that are successful are called new treatment options! But, you should ask the melanoma e-list support groups. Patients there might have a good idea which trials are showing the most promise for this disease or might be able to point you to the best option for this situation.

I am not sure of your nieces exact situation is or her location. In the US there are major comprehensive cancer centers that are research and educational hospitals considered among the best in the world. They exchange information with each other and often have the most updated treatment options available for their patients.

Good luck.

Second opinion time.

If the second doc "gives up," then you'll have a better idea of the situation.

NIH has a web site listing clinical trials. But any doctor should be able to find out this information, and should be willing to assist you in finding an appropriate clinical trial.
