Question - The answer to your question is YES! Although "smoking" is the most common cause (of typical squamous cell carcinoma), some lung cancers, especially of the surface and inner chest lining (known as malignant mesotheliomas or mesothelial carcinomas) are caused by certain types of asbestos found in building material insulation products.
Then there are some peripheral "scar" carcinomas whose cause is simply unknown.
Other rarer lung cancers do exist.

Any type of chemical can give you lung cancer, but it has to be repetitive exposure, such as working in a working environment.
You can get it like you get any other cancer, but that is very rare it is usually caused be constant pollutants going into the lungs.

Sometimes other cancers can spread to the lungs.
