Tattoo On My Ankle, Painful?

Postby Hillock » Tue Oct 10, 2017 3:19 pm

My mother passed away 7 years ago after a battle with melanoma cancer.
The one thing that I told myself I would do is getting a tattoo on my ankle of a small frog.
The same tattoo that my mother got.
Frogs are a symbol of healing from my understanding, and I believe I would get the final moment of closure after this is done.
I've already put my mind to it, I know I'm going to do it, I just want to prepare myself for the amount of pain.
I currently have one tattoo on my stomach, so I'm familiar with the burning needle sensation.
I'm a very boney girl, don't weigh that much I guess, so there is really a small amount of skin covering my nerves on my ankle.
I've had my lips pierced 3 times, my tongue twice, my naval once, and ears three times.
My pain tolerance is in the upper middle, how much pain do you think I'll be in? Its a completely black tree frog about and inch or two long, and an inch wide.

It will suck, but you'll be fine. It's a tender spot, but as long as you're not a total weenie you'll be able to handle it. :)

All tattoos hurt. The ankle has thin skin so it will be especially painful but it helps to have someone talk to you during so you are a bit distracted. The main thing is that you will have the urge to twitch, which is difficult for the artist. Try clenching your toes instead of pulling away.

Tattoo On My Ankle, Painful?

I have tattoos on my wrist, inner left bicep, upper right sleeve, half of my upper back and my ankle and foot, and my ankle was the worst.

It's pretty small and on the inside of my right ankle, it took around 45 minutes and it definitely didn't feel good. However, like any other tattoo it's definitely tolerable and you have a great reason to get yours, so I'm sure you'll be able to get yourself through it.

The body is designed to numb itself after a certain amount of pain, and this was really true for me. I have a pretty decent pain thresh hold but I was definitely making faces when I got this tattoo.

Tattoo On My Ankle, Painful?

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?
