Sore mouth during PMS?

Postby leon » Thu Sep 15, 2011 11:47 am

For over a year now I have had intermittent pain in the back of my mouth, kind of feels like I have been chewing on my tongue/cheek and my cheek and tongue sometimes have ridges. I have had dentists look at it and they have all said the tissue looks normal, sometimes they see a callous from possible grinding, nothing abnormal.

Just had half of my thyroid removed, benign nodule. So I lterally had an ENT in my neck for three hours, lymphnodes everthing looked normal so I'm not worried about oral/throat cancer.

BUT I am starting to notice it more before my period. Sometimes its canker sores on the inside of my lips or cheeks as well. I'm making an appointment with an endocrinologist to talk about my thyroid maybe they can shed some light on this.

Sore mouth during PMS?

Ok I might be just putting 2 and 2 together, but MAYBE, you get paranoid about your period (or anxious, stressed, etc) and you start grinding your teeth at night.

I've never heard of this before, but that's my best bet.

Hope it helps :)
