Someone please explain. Got my FNA and ultrasound results.?

Postby dontae57 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:52 pm

He gave me a copy of my FNA biopsy, and it said:
FNA RIGHT THRYROID:
- Sheets and Groups of Follicular Cells with Nuclear Enlargement.
MICRONUCLEOLI, INTRANUCLEAR INCLUSIONS:
- Suggestive of Papillary Carcinoma

Also in the last ultrasound it says there is 1.0x0.9x0.7cm lobulated hypoechoic nodule with punctate calcifications and vascularity.
SUMMARY:
-Solitary suspicious right thyroid nodule.
-Right intraparotid lymph node.
-No suspicious Cervical Lymphadenopathy

If anyone knows what all these mean please explaine it to me.

Who is “he” that gave them to you?
As you can see they are useless unless you understand them or they are explained to you.
Both of these tests are suggestive of, but not diagnostic for cancer. This information needs to be clinically correlated and this is why you need and explanation from your doctor.
