Slept in basement with radon?

Postby lisandro » Thu Jun 21, 2012 9:47 am

3 years ago, I remember sleeping in my basement for just 2-4 weeks (around winter or spring) and I've never been down there ever again for any longer than 10 minutes. I sleep on the very top floor of my house and I'm about to get my radon level checked in my house. Do you think 2-4 weeks of sleeping in my basement is significant enough to cause lung cancer?

Slept in basement with radon?

The typical radon levels in a basement are equivalent to inhaling one cigarette per day. I wouldn't worry about to much. I smoked one pack a day for 20 years. That is 20 cigarettes each day.
