Serious Issue? Blood in stool?

Postby corley39 » Fri Sep 09, 2011 1:52 pm

At the beginning of the summer I noticed I had bright red blood in my stool, almost every time I used the restroom. There has been no pain. The blood has gone away for about 10-20 days twice then it comes back. I haven't had an examination and I'm worried if it's colon cancer it will have progressed into a more serious stage... How worried should I be?

Could be dehydration, constipation, or something else. Get it checked :)

It could be as simple as a hemorrhoid. Don't immediately freak out thinking it's cancer. Go for an exam, for goodness sake.

Internal Hemorrhoids. Not colon cancer...I have had the same problem for the past 35 years. You are fine.

It's probably something simple, but it's impossible to diagnose over the internet. As a precaution, and for your own peace of mind, I agree that you should get a check-up.

it may be a simple 'piles', amoebiasis. Not to worry unnecessarily in the absence of confirmation.
Prudent to see a general surgeon for accurate diagnosis and permanent cure by surgical interference.
