Question On Liver Enzymes....??

Postby Anastasius » Thu Mar 20, 2014 5:41 am

Are there any non-life threatening reasons why a person who does not drink or eat high fatty foods would have an increase in liver enzymes?

Question On Liver Enzymes....??

Postby Seager » Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:26 pm

Hi, My liver enzymes leaked, when I was too low in zinc. Being low in zinc would not let Vit A out of my liver... Hair tests for zinc, copper etc work the better than blood tests to check for this. I took milk thistle and Now brand-Detox Support to help my liver. Shasha 76 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Please verify your account to give a compliment. Frequent Tylenol(acetameniphen) use.   Exposure to various toxic fumes.   Taking several medications at once that are all metabolized by the same pathway in the liver.   Gallstones blocking a bile duct   Physical trauma to the liver.   Many viral infections(and some bacterial ones) cause a transient rise in enzymes.

The diseases listed above are among the most common causes of elevated liver enzyme levels, but there are literally hundreds of others. Check my Web page on lab test interpretation(URL below) for a more complete list. Ed Uthman, MD Pathologist
