This morning I felt the back of my head and felt a hard bone-like lump.   It is above the natural bone bumps above the neck, but does feel round and very hard.  Never noticed it before.  Of course I am really scared.  Could this have been a part of my head I have never noticed.  It is not sore or moveable.

Yes, this can be completely normal and simply something you didn't notice before.  We all have dips and bumps in our skull bones.  It should by symmetric - that is, present in the middle or pretty similar on both sides - and should not be getting bigger.  However, one cannot make a diagnosis(determine what a lump is or isn't) over the internet.  An experienced doctor needs to see and feel it.  Please bring this to your doctor's attention and he/she probably can reassure you that there is nothing to worry about.
