I need some medical help for my homework....?

Postby weston » Sun Apr 03, 2011 3:23 am

I am writing a short story for my eng lit and I need some help.

My character is 12 years old and he is dying from cancer. I need some help on which cancer he is dying from, can anyone give me the name of a childhood cancer that he could have been battling for a few years.
He could have leukemia or cancer. - My teacher wasn't specific on the way our character dies but I know I want mine to be cancer related.

I just need the name as I can research it myself, but, if you leave extra information I will be ever so grateful.

Leukemia is a type of cancer, a blood cancer. It happens to be one that occurs more frequently in children too so I would go with that if I were you. I'm giving you a couple of links to get you started.
Kids with leukemia have to endure chemotherapy with hair loss, vomiting and sometimes high fevers from infections. Many will get to the stage where they need a bone marrow transplant. It's not nice for the kids or the family at all.

try acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). it's the most common leukaemia to affect children.
