I'm not sure if i believe that my friend has cancer?

Postby jerel16 » Sat Aug 13, 2011 2:16 pm

My friend told me a few months ago that she has brain cancer. I was genuinely upset, I dreaded the thought of losing her. Then we sort of didnt speak about it anymore for a while. Later on that month she told me she had leg cancer, and that she was going to get an operation. She said she got fake skin to cover up the chemo. She says that she is in and out of hopsital because she slits her wrists and stabs herself. She also says that her friends have killed themselves but some of their photos are on google. Also, she said that one of them died but came back to life. Recently she said that she has cancer in her lower intestine, she said it was terminal. She is telling all this to a boy and making him be her friend just because she has not got long to live. However when she told me this she was smiling, and said that her doctor had told her stress had caused her cancer and that if she was happy it would go away. Also, she told other people she had got rid of the cancer and sometimes muddles up her story so she forgets she originally had leg cancer. Also, she also said that she used to have a twin called Eric that drowned in the sea when he was six. I have known her for basically all my life, and I never knew she had a twin called Eric nor did I know that moved from America to England because my parents and her parents were talking and her parents said they had never lived in america.
She also says that her brother and dad didn't really react to the news about cancer. So i don't know what to believe? Please help.

How could you not be sure if she is lying?
I couldn’t even get half way through your post and it was clear she is lying and not really a friend.

You forget, she originally had brain cancer not leg cancer..Seriously if you or anyone else believes anything you just wrote, they need to be institutionalized.

If the first part where brain cancer was her original cancer were true, then all the rest of it is still untrue.

your friend sounds like a compulsive liar!
shes defiantly lying about having cancer, how low can you get, seriously?
Shes pathetic, and lying about serious illness that have affected so many is just effed up.
shes attention seeking if you ask me.

If her original statement of brain cancer was true, then all of this is a symptom of it.

The other option is she is a pathological liar. Did you know her well before this? Did she lie before she told you about her cancer?

Sounds like a compulsive liar, lying about such a deadly disease suggests she needs psychiatric help.

Chronic liar. She doesn't have any cancer, no twin, and never came from America.

Talk to her parents, this girl obviously needs help. Her lying to you is to get sympathy and attention and her parents need to know how emotionally bad she is doing. If she were on chemo theres nothing she could do to hide that. and you wouldn't need "fake skin" to cover up anything from chemo (she obviously got it confused with radiation therapy). She needs some professional help, now, before she actually does something serious to herself or someone else for attention
