I Am Writing A Book About A Girl With Leukemia. I Need Some Help With Facts?

Postby walfred » Wed Oct 04, 2017 6:41 pm

I am writing this book where a girl has leukemia. Could anyone speak simple English and explain to me a few things about leukemia. Like the symptoms, the treatments, and any thing else would be highly appreciated. I would prefer if you listed any references and if you for some reason have any personal experiences with leukemia (ex: doctor, family member with leukemia, ect) that would be even better. Thanks!

Good writers write about things they know about or do extensive research.

Books written about any form of cancer written by people who have either not directly dealt with cancer themselves or been the support person for someone dealing with cancer tend to be poorly researched on the whole and as a cancer survivor, I find their characterisation of the disease offensive.

Either spend some time in a cancer ward, befriend someone with the disease and spend time with them on a daily basis throughout their journey, or write about something else.
