I Am Not Sure What To Do With This Stray Cat, What Would You Do?

Postby Jore » Sat Oct 07, 2017 10:43 am

he appeared at my house a few days ago. I felt so bad for him because he was so skinny and starving so I fed him (probably my first mistake). He has been living on my back porch ever since. I took him to the vet today to get him scanned for a chip and there was not one but he is very healthy and they said he was between 6-8 months old. I got him tested for feline AIDS and Leukemia and all his shots. Anyway, I have posted an add in craigslist and on my neighborhood facebook page to see if anybody is missing a cat. It seems he must have belonged to somebody because he is neutered and seems very domesticated (always trying to get into my house).

I already have 2 indoor cats and 2 indoor dogs. So far the cat living on my porch seems to be fine with my dogs. I am thinking of adopting him but my husband thinks we already have too many pets. I always swore I would never get more pets but I am feeling sad for him and getting attached (he is super sweet). Do you think 3 cats and 2 chocolate labs is too much in a 3100 square foot house? is there a big difference between having 2 indoor cats or 3 indoor cats? Should I just make him a porch kitty? Need advice.

Well we have 3 dogs and 2 indoor cats, and getting another kitten.

We live in a 3 bed house. Is your stray cat going to be an indoor cat? Because he can live outside but come in for food.

I would keep him as your pet until you find him another loving home. Consider yourself his foster family. When someone responds to your adds, or you did anyone kind and willing to take him, then you know what to do.

Awh, you're a great person. If you can't keep him, I'd suggest putting up an ad on Craigslist to get someone to adopt him. Just be patient and all will fall into place! Good luck :)
