How to convert this to sentence?

Air pollution has been increasing in all industrialized nations, almost to the point that coming to the city from the countryside is like entering a gas chamber. Most municipal governments try to control pollution by prohibiting smoke-producing vehicles from city streets and not allowing open fires for the burning of trash. Air pollution is the major cause of respiratory disease, and is the main cause of lung cancer. People can help by planting trees, which convert some carbon dioxide from polluted air into the oxygen, so necessary for healthy living.
