How fast does cancer of the esophagus spread?

Postby jeannette71 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 11:16 am

My ex-husband was diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus and stage 1 Cancer back in January and has refused to get the tests done to confirm the actual stage and if it was further along than thought. He has even claimed the Dr. told him he sent the wrong biopsy reports to him and that he doesn't have cancer, yet he shows all the signs and symptoms of this cancer I have read about. My concern is our 13 year old son and how this could effect him..I know he is aware of what is going on and he's been asking if his dad does have cancer how long will he live for if he continues to refuse to be treated..Can anybody tell me a general time frame so I have something to tell my son and so I can prepare myself for what may be ahead?
