How do you prepare your daughter, who has down syndrome, for her leukemia treatment?

I have no specialty in this. I know when I was getting ready for chemo when I was 11, just knowing my family would be there was good enough. Getting everything explained. Knowing my hair would fall of before it surprised me was helpful. Just knowing they were there and getting reminded. Getting asked all the time if there was anything I needed. I know my parents suffered more than me. Prepare yourself. You'll need to be strong for her.

Difficult problem. I doubt you can fully prepare her.
I have treated Down's syndrome patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
There was no way to get the explanations across to the ones I saw.
They simply could not understand, but they were very trusting.
Many Down's syndrome patients are the nicest people.
