hi all, I had an incident which I ended up with a sweet stuck in my throat... I ended up in hospital and again a week after... the first visit they gave me fizzy cola to dissolve the sweet it worked and teh second one they gave me antibiotics as it was an infection. That was 6 months ago. Since then I have made a few visits to my GP and complained my throat isnt right they thought reflux.. gave me Peptac which was great. Now its far much better and no pain nothing at all.. a month ago I had a blood test which resulted in the all clear..no cancer no thyroid nothing. I am eating more now.. I didn't eat solid foods for a few months but now I am eating more and more and different foods hard and soft. I am feeling good now. But one thing that bothers me is people's comments ' oh you have lost weigh' they do not realise how upsetting it is to hear that. I have worked out my maths and think I need to put on half a stone.. how do I do this.... I need 2100 calories per day ( I am 152cm tall and 39yo) over ten days ( total 21000 calories) if I am correct. what kind of foods should I eat.... give me an example of a Mon-Fri daily foods to help me go back to my weigh I was before. What food should i opt for daily... that is not fatty food/bad food.

lots of carbs like pasta, steak, chicken and rice. Make sure you dont eat unhealthy things as this will jsut fill you up and not put weight on. Make sure you have regular snacks of like toast and peanut during the day and also increase portion sizes.

Hi,

I would try adding 3 servings a day of a high density nutritional supplement such as ensure, boost or even slim fast. Not as a meal replacement, but as an addition to meals and with your snacks. All provide good nutritional support with high caloric intake. Other than that, eat good fats, peanut or almond butter, avocado etc. Whole wheat pastas and rice may be easier for you to swallow.

Have you been to a GI doctor? I am concerned about the length of time you have been experiencing these symptoms. Any chance you can get a referral and maybe get an upper GI series so they can actually see what is going on? You know your body best. Keep bugging them until you are satisfied with what is going on with.

Try and have 3 -4 meals a day - Pasta,and lean meat are ideal. Of course include your fruit and veg but try and have a little bit of meat or pasta with each dish. even if its a pasta salad for lunch and then some nice fish or meat with steamed vegetables at night.
