How Bad Is Stage 3 Bone Cancer?

Postby queran » Tue Dec 20, 2016 9:20 am

Treatment for bone cancer depends on the stage and location of the disease, and on the patient's age and general health. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, and in many cases, a combination of treatments is used.

This is bone cancer of any grade that has spread to other bones or another body organ.
The most common area for bone cancer to spread is the lungs.
The second most common area for it to spread is to other bones.

Stage III bone cancer is considered as secondry tumor include metastatic tumors which have spread from other organs, such as the breast, lung, and prostate. Metastatic tumors more frequently involve the axial skeleton than the appendicular skeleton. Tumors which originate in the soft tissues may also secondarily involve bones through direct invasion.

It is a difficult situation to manage and the prognosis of this cancer is about 1 to 3 years subject to the patient's tolerating the treatments. Best of luck -
