Help My Grandma From Constipation!?

since she cannot take anything orally to ease constipation, you might as well go to the other way around, which means you really have to administer directly into the anus.

such procedure is called enema. Enema is a procedure in which you introduce or administer liquid directly into the rectum and colon via the anus to cleanse that area of digestive tract. This is also done to ease constipation. You can actually buy enema solutions from drugstores or you may make your own with ingredients found in your household.

Mix water and mild hand soap, baking powder or salt and I suggest you use a syringe (without a needle!) to administer it since you are still an amateur.

For Salt enema solution, mix 1 tablespoon of salt to 1 quart (two cups) of warm water. Make sure to use a big syringe for this. When you squirt the solution into the anus, make sure to do it SLOWLY and CAREFULLY, otherwise it may be harmful.

Before doing the procedure, please consult your grandma's doctor whether or not it is safe to perform enema on a pancreatic cancer patient. Or maybe they can do it for you and you may want to let them teach you how to do it on your own.

When someone is dying, the gastro-intestinal system slows down remarkably. The fact that your poor Grandmother is constipated is a nuisence, but if she is not in distress too much, then ignore it. She has far greater issues to worry about and so do you.

Hope all goes well.
