Family History Of Ovarian Cancer, Doctor Wants To Check Me For Ovarian Cancer Now. I Have A Question.?

Postby Govannon » Mon Sep 11, 2017 2:26 am

I had an aunt who died of ovarian cancer at 40.

I am 31 and I have been having a lot of pain. It was so acute one day that I ended up at the hospital where they told me they thought I had ruptured a cyst and possibly had endometriosis.

I followed up at my gyn and he found fluid on my right ovary, and a cyst on my left. When I went to the ER, they told me they saw fluid in my pelvis and a cyst on the right, so I'm not sure why it's been different in the space of three weeks, anyway, what I'm worried about is this....

My doctor drew my blood and is testing it for cancer. He wants me to follow up with a cancer specialist. He said he wouldn't do this otherwise, but it's because of my family history. I have to go back to him in six weeks.

He's also sending me to a GI doctor because he thinks the pain is gastro intestinal and my GP to check my spleen because I had Epstein Barr two years ago and my most intense pain is on the left.

My question is....would I feel super sick if I had cancer? I feel like I know that I don't have cancer. Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly terrified. I had a panic attack in the doctors office during my sonogram and after they took my blood. Something is wrong because I'm in pain and get nauseau and bad gas at times and something is obviously gynecologically wrong, but, wouldn't my body feel somehow just....really off other than having pain if I had cancer?

it may desire to be only benign cysts, endometriosis or PCOS, no longer ovarian maximum cancers, and doubtless you should come to a decision what's incorrect in the previous making plans a lawsuit? only because of the fact which you have a family background of a undeniable maximum cancers would not propose you have it. Cysts are very hardship-loose in women, and could reason soreness which you should take a soreness reliever for = tylenol would be wonderful. I even have linked a internet site with information on the countless forms of ovarian cysts. you do not have a case as nicely. there became no negligence or malpractice. Why are you so fixated on suing in the previous you additionally be responsive to what is going on? only circulate to a distinctive known practitioner and notice on your wellness. Your known practitioner sounds as though he /she isn't that throughout the time of contact, yet they won't be negligent. yet see the different known practitioner and get this appeared after.

My sister was recently diagnosed with cancer. Until she got a lump on her neck, she thought it was just side-effects from her second pregnancy. You may feel sick or you may not. Each person is unique. Just let the doctor do the tests and he'll help you figure out what's going on. Best of luck.

You can't draw any conclusions about cancer based on the events and info you have at this point.
Thus far, everything is consistent with ovarian cysts that have ruptured or endometriosis, or both.
The cysts can come and go in 3 weeks, so there's nothing unusual about different findings on two visits.

You would not necessarily feel anything at all if you had ovarian cancer in its earliest stage.
You might have some of the symptoms you have been experiencing if ovarian cancer has been present for a while but is still in a relatively early stage.
Ovarian cancer is usually first discovered by ultrasound and you have already passed that test.
The blood test for cancer is usually inconclusive.

Like you doc said, a person would not normally be suspected of having ovarian cancer with the symptoms you have - its really the family history that is driving the suspicion.

You will just have to wait and see what the docs find with additional tests.
Its a good idea to start with the GI tract and spleen.
If no problems are found there, then it might be worth looking more closely at the pelvic cavity with microsurgery.

At this stage it sounds more like cysts than cancer but it is good that your Dr is being thorough.

It is something tha is better with an accurate diagnosis from your Dr than guesses from strangers on the internet.

The only "symptom" of my cancer was a lump where it shouldn't have been.
