Does Chemo Make You Infertile?

Postby Radbert » Tue Oct 10, 2017 5:48 am

Not necessarily, no.
It would depend on the type of chemo, the age of the person and how their body reacts to it.
I stopped having a period after my first chemo and haven't had one since (4 years) but I was 47 when I started and perimenopausal.
I was also warned that there was still a chance that I could get pregnant so still use protection.

My friend had chemo for testicular cancer when he was 23.
He went on to father two more children after his treatment.

I know a few women who have had children after chemo for breast cancer.
