YES , LUNG CANCER CAN BE DETERMINED BY CHEST X RAY . THE X RAY SHOWS THE TRACES OF IT ..

THE ONLY TEST WHICH IS USED TO DIAGNOSE CANCER IS BIOPSY . TILL NOW ,THERE IS NO OTHER METHODS AVAILABLE DIAGNOSE CANCER .

X RAY AND OTHER RADIOGRAPH TECHNIQUE CAN SHOW ANY CHANGES IN ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE OF THE PARTICULAR ORGAN OR STRUCTURE . EXAMPLE , ANY BULGES , ERUPTIONS , ANY STRUCTURAL CHANGE CAUSED BY THE CANCER.

The Cancer is actually a mass or soft tissue we say and hence will be seen as white (opaque) on chest xray.

Moreover, Positive Airbronchogram sign will appear in case of bronchoalveolar carcinoma.

What makes you think that you have lung cancer when your doctor says x-ray chest is normal.Lung cancer can be picked on x-rays .You have not mentioned your age and wether you smoke.If still in doubt get CT Scan of chest.

Lung Cancer could be visible on a Chest X-Ray, but you'll need to speak to your doctor to get some other tests done such as blood tests, possibly a CT Scan or an MRI Scan. Just don't stress.
