No, Leukemia is not contagious. However, another cancer can in a way. The Human Papilova Virus (HPV) is the virus that leads to ovarian cancer and is actually a sexually transmitted disease, this is why young girls are now being vaccinated against HPV.

It is not spread among humans, but it is spread throughout the body by the cells.
Leukemia is cancer of the white blood cells. Like other cancers it is not contagious. White blood cells help to fight infections, so obviously a person with Leukemia is unable to fight off infection. However, if caught in time it is one of the more curable cancers.

It depends on which type of Leukemia.

If they have the Human T-Cell Leukemia Virus (HTLV-1), then it can be transmitted to you through sexual activity, causing you to develop the disease as well.

All other types of leukemia are non-contagious.
