Bone Marrow Too Weak To Fight Pancreatic Cancer With Chemo...?

Postby Eustatius » Thu Oct 05, 2017 8:04 am

As Denise says, chemotherapy works so poorly for pancreatic cancer

that it would make no difference if the bone marrow was healthy.

Chemotherapy has never cured advanced pancreatic cancer.

I am a cancer specialist doctor.

If I had a pancreatic cancer, I would NOT take chemotherapy.

This person would have the same outcome whether chemotherapy was given or not.

Some people would blame the lack of a bone marrow transplant

for the death of this person.
That is not the case.

If pancreatic cancer cannot be surgically removed, it is a death sentence.

Sorry to be so blunt.
Denial and bargaining will not work here.

Pancreatic cancers are the least likely to respond to any of our

100 plus chemotherapy drugs.
Those patients always do poorly in my experience,

and I have seen scores of them.

if chemo can not get rid of pancreatic cancer it's not worth having.it will just make you feel really crummy before you die and may even speed up your demise.

Is it distinctive myeloma? My dad had that...its the main cancers of a undeniable form of plasma in the bone marrow. regrettably it is not cureable. My dad did an autologous stem cellular transplant. They accrued some bone marrow stem cells from him, nuked him with chemo, and then transplanted them lower back. That offered us purely approximately 8 years. in the time of the 8 years he fought that maximum cancers, we did see numerous advancements in scientific care and there are some very promising gene-treatment based remedies on the horizon. they think of myeloma will sooner or later be considered a persistent, treatable affliction like diabetes and not be considered a terminal maximum cancers. distinctive myeloma is an exceedingly sluggish-shifting maximum cancers. in the time my dad had it, he regularly had great high quality of existence. We traveled, etc. He died as a results of problems in the time of a 2d bone marrow transplant attempt. God bless you. maximum cancers fairly sucks.

Chemo does little for pancreatic cancer.

Having pancreatic cancer makes them ineligible to a bone marrow transplant.
